Our Story

Papa's Tapas is a family owned restaurant located in the Pineapple Grove District of Delray Beach, Florida.

Papa (the namesake) attained his passion of cooking as a young boy, who would stand by his mother, who was one of the first female chefs in Spain, as she prepared the classic dishes he grew to love. As a young man, he came to America to chase his dreams of opening his own restaurant one day. While in America, he met the love of his life, and together forged ahead and set up a legacy for themselves and their family to come.

Mama (as she is affectionately called) brings her style of cooking from her Dominican roots, and you will see touches of her Caribbean side on the menu. She is also a talented baker, which is showcased on our dessert menu.

Now their passion is shared and supported by their children, who work the restaurant with them. You will see any of the sisters on the floor, waiting tables, running food or cooking alongside of Papa.

Our local family restaurant will bring you back to Old World Spain with many of its traditional dishes, with recipes that have been passed down through the generations. You will also find a fusion between the Old World and the New World Cooking when one of the sisters takes on the kitchen. This is what we love and
